Cristina O’Naghten, CPA, has served as Vice President, Internal Audit, and Chief Audit Executive at Fresh Del Monte since 2025. In this role, Ms. O’Naghten reports directly to the Audit Committee and leads the development and execution of the annual audit plan, providing timely insights on risks to support the company’s strategic priorities. She also chairs the Ethics & Compliance Committee and oversees the company’s Speak-Up Line. 

Ms. O’Naghten is an experienced audit and risk management executive with a proven track record of building strong governance frameworks, leading high-performing teams, and advising senior leadership on complex business risks across multiple industries and geographies. 

Previously, Ms. O’Naghten served as Chief Audit Executive at Millicom, a leading provider of cable, mobile, and high-speed broadband services in emerging markets across Latin America and Africa. Before that, she was Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at Laureate Education, the world’s largest international network of degree-granting higher education institutions. As Laureate’s first CRO, she developed and implemented an integrated risk management framework that supported informed growth decisions while safeguarding operations across the company’s diverse international footprint. She also served as Vice President of Internal Audit at Laureate, where she oversaw financial, operational, and compliance audits, led sensitive internal investigations, and managed SOX readiness efforts ahead of the company’s IPO. 

Earlier in her career, Ms. O’Naghten spent eight years with General Motors Corporation as Internal Audit Director for the automotive and financial services sectors across Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. She began her professional career at EY in the assurance practice. 

Ms. O’Naghten has extensive global experience spanning Latin America, North America, China, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, holds an MBA from Florida International University, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
