East Coast grocery stores are clearing off some shelf space in the produce department, as Mann Packing isย expanding its footprintย in the region. With the support of parent company Fresh Del Monte Produceโs wholly owned distribution facilities, the supplier will now be servicing several major retailers in North Carolina.
โWe have created a turnkey program at Mannโs with the customer in mind,โ says Chip Obracay, Vice President of National Sales. โNot only do we haveย a wide array of products, but we also have a large distribution network from coast to coast, which lowers costs for our customers, while also providing them with wide-ranging quality products in a timely fashion.โ
By leveraging the services of Tricont Trucking & Logistics, Fresh Del Monteโs third-party inland logistics company, Mannโs is able toย provide customers nationwideย with fresh produce, a press release explained. Mannโs integrated supply chain allows customers to purchase products and have them processed and delivered, all directly via Mann Packing. The efficiency of this system allows for an optimization in shelf-life for products at a lower cost to the customer.
Mannโs products now arrive at the distribution center in the morning and are shipped to the customer by the end of the same day. The press release added that this is made possible byย ready-made palletsย that are identified for specific destinations.
Mann Packing currently provides multiple deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables to Fresh Del Monte-owned facilities across North America. In the future, the company plans to expand further to provide more customers with itsย fresh and value-added products.
